God's Grace

Jesus Saves
God
Almighty creator, perfect being, righteous god, loving father. That is God. He made the whole world, you and me, in his image. That is why he is interested in us. For each and every one of us. He wants communion, but cannot have it with you.
Why?
There is something that separates you from this holy God:
Sin!
Sin is the violation of God's law, God's order for our lives.
This we find in His Word, the Bible.
How can we stand before this perfect judge?
Grace
Although we act against God's law, he loves us and wants to be merciful to us. Then he can just forgive us, can't he? Suppose God forgives your sins "just like that", is he then still a just and holy judge?
He would be merciful, but no longer just!
Then God would no longer be God!
How can He be perfectly just and perfectly merciful?
How would it be if you got your punishment, but someone else carried it for you? The judge would be just, the fine would be paid! The judge would be merciful! You would be spared! Can you imagine anyone volunteering to do that for you? And if so, can anyone do it? Let's say two criminals get life sentences! Can one of them take the punishment of the other so that the second one is free? I think you realise that this is not possible.
Who then can bear sin if all men are guilty?
Jesus
Only one who is not guilty himself. God is without guilt. He is perfect!
That is why he himself became man in Jesus Christ. He lived as a human being, with problems, sufferings and temptations, just like us, but without sinning at all He lived the perfect life according to God's standard!
He deserved no punishment at all.
He could have gone back to his divine life at any time.
But: ...
Save
Instead, he allows himself to be beaten, tortured and then executed on the cross by men, his own creatures.
Why?
Because he loves us. He died on the cross, bearing the punishment that we humans deserved.
Through his death we can experience forgiveness and grace and stand in God's judgement. God is perfectly merciful and righteous through this plan!
But Jesus did not remain dead, he rose again from death.
In order to stand before God and accept Jesus' sacrifice, he demands of you:
Recognise and confess your guilt - Ask for forgiveness and believe in Him! Jesus wants to be your Saviour and Lord!
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life!
John 3:16
